An elephant goes sight-seeing in Washington, D.C. - 1923

derAmialtebloede: But of course, the entire city has been inundated with Republican Party elephant manure for as long as I can remember.

As for the photograph, it does rather suggest Pennsylvania Avenue at about 13th or 14th Street, with the tower of the Old Post Office building rising out of the mist in the background. That being the case, the elephant's capacious head would be obscuring our view of the Capitol dome - something the Republican elephants also manage to do quite well on a regular basis, to this very day.
