rsf[24] - old lighthouse {1 of 2}
The old lighthouse on the high ground above Roker Beach [near Sunderland].
Glowing somewhat in the sunlight, it looks like it has had a recent repaint.
.
Built in 1856 to a design by Thomas Meik and sited on the Old South Pier at the mouth of the R. Wear.
It was moved here in 1983.
.
That green grass was quite sodden, due to all the recent rain.
