Newby Head Pass, Yorkshire, England.

Newby Head Pass, Yorkshire, England.
The ever present dramatic skies dance their shadows over the dales. At the top of the pass stood the Newby Head drovers Inn which is now a farm on this high windswept spot 1,425 ft above sea level, it was the fourth highest inn in England. There was plenty of custom from the drovers bringing sheep and cattle to and from Scotland. There drovers, packmen and other travellers called in for a drink and to stay the night at this lonely spot high in the dales.

Hi Steve, It's a pretty lonely spot alright, only tainted by the excitement of seeing Ribblehead viaduct further down the valley!!
