Eddie Carson: Father of Josephine Baker

Eddie Carson died on August 30, 1965, at the age of 79. His obituary in The St. Louis Argus named him the father of "Entertainer Josephine Baker." There is some mystery as to who Josephine Baker's father was ... the mystery was brought on by Josephine herself. She described her father as "Eddie Moreno, a good-looking boy with olive skin," she also described him as a Spanish dancer. However, on Josephine Baker's birth record in St. Louis, Missouri Eddie Carson is listed as her birth father.
