Lion Scratching

Lion Scratching
Taken at Kruger National Park, 2018. We saw groups of lions every day (and some at night) during our safari.

Panasonic GX85 100-300 lens, processed with GIMP.

(Here's an animal for Sunday Challenge. Enjoy!)

Nora Caracci, Wierd Folkersma, Gillian Everett, Annemarie and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Beau souvenir de voyage. J’avais jamais vu un lion se grattant comme un vulgaire chat. Très bien vu.

I take it you weren't walking that close without protection; a beauty!

We were safely inside the safari vehicle throughout, and told NOT to move. Interesting story: there were some animals in the tall grass. Our guide/driver wanted to get them to appear, so he climbed out of the vehicle. I never saw so many heads swivel so fast, when those predators saw him walking around! He instantly jumped back in the vehicle, and we got several photos.

Our safari photos were taken with the longest telephoto lenses we could afford. Fortunately, we could brace the lenses on the seat frame in front of us, so had little trouble with camera shake.
