SIS Sachs V5 Motozax
SIS – Sociedade Irmãos Simões, was founded by Joaquim Simões Costa in the early 1950s. It had two industrial units that later merged into one with facilities in Malaposta (Anadia, Portugal), and had a close connection with the German company Fitchel & Sachs.
The fruit of this relationship was particularly fruitful as it gave rise to what is possibly the most popular national two-wheeled vehicle. Apparently, it was the one that was produced in the greatest number (there are said to be around 80,000, many for export) and, despite all its major or minor evolutions, it was sold for at least 3 decades: 60s, 70s and 80s !
The company closed in 1995.
