Pardon et hommage aux péris en mer au port de Kerroc'h (56)
pardon des péris en mer, une cérémonie importante sur ces terres de pêche, qui sera aussi l’occasion d’honorer tous les métiers de la mer et bénédiction des bateaux,
The tradition of pardons is unique to Brittany. The pardon of Saint Bieuzy, in Kerroc'h, Plœmeur (Morbihan) was born rather late, in 1953. This gathering was an opportunity to unite the entire village community. Even if Kerroc'h no longer has any fishermen, it's a tradition that remains firmly rooted in the small port of Plœmeur. 70 years after the first pardon, “the procession at sea continues, with the participation of the last generation of fishermen whose families come from the village,” explain two local historians, Emmanuelle Yhuel-Bertin and Jean-Jacques Carriou. The pardon in memory of those lost at sea remains a special moment in local life.
