Statue Of Liberty Nebula NGC3576

Statue Of Liberty Nebula NGC3576
Close to Carina So is only visible in the Southern Hemisphere. this is one I forgot to try so it is very high in the sky. This is 116 shot taken over two clear nights Moon free, each 10 min Guided -10 degrees.

this was part trial to see if even with the Astro camera its worth taking more than one night. first night photo took a bit if noise removal two nights together none at all and far more subtle detail in the shot like the "Ladies" Wrap show up more with the second night. I have added a starless PIP of the Lady as well so you can see her standing on her platform.

Astounding! I don't begin to understand anything about astronomy which is why I normally refrain form comment when you and others (Ko, etc) post your amazing shots! But it's not out of a lack of respect for what you do or a lack of appreciation for the wonder of these things and your splendid captures!

Andy I do know what you mean its is some thing very different far from the normal photography. BUT its just the same just a bit further out. this is about 3 years work to get here been a lot of very blue nights swearing at the computer cause it just would not work. almost the same last night would not plate solve last night 2 but first night first up. plate solve is basically I chose my shot do the stars in the shot you have match that view. If not it move the mount to get that view. I had to turn the whole lot off and restart the whole thing , first up it plate solved. Go figure.

Its just as much fun for me to see these on my computer as it is to share I know these are not for every one but they are in our skies to enjoy. keeps the mind very active as well as you get older.

We are rather lucky we have mostly no light pollution 1 hour from the city. Its going to be some thing I enjoy more of as well with deep space.
