Borya constricta Churchill

Borya constricta Churchill
While checking for weeds from the city I took a photo of this years flower about 30 on the small group I have. A flower most people in Australia would never see at all as its such a small plant and live in a very narrow environment on the large granite Rocks. like the leaves the flower is also protected with sharp tough spikes.

It's a pretty little thing but its defenses mean I'm glad it's not found in the granite areas of my local countryside!

Andy my first introduction to the plant was at night I sat down thinking it was same as grass to compose the shot .

needless to say like sitting on a group of up right pins. BUT an amazing plant what you see here is just how it grows on the rock in next to no soil.

Very old plants but they are very small most in Australia would not know they exist as they are not in places most would go to. they are small and not often see, very sharp needles all the way through.
