I was a little disappointed at the outcome of my first clinic as some results were against my expectations. The hospitals computers were down so the consultant surgeon was working from hand written notes. It seems because of the problems I had with the surgery though all the tumour was removed successfully some of the mass had found its way around the pancreas and they are worried about cells still remaining. Nothing has shown up on CT scans but a second round of chemotherapy is planned.

On the plus side they thought my progress was good, I am eating small snacks and weight loss has stableised, I do feel stronger and now starting on strength building exercises.

Even though it is 4 weeks since the operation, back and neck muscles are really sore and keep me awake each night. Apparently this is normal for my surgery and may take upto six months to normalise. A paracetamol every 4 hours helps but will be seeing my GP for a better alternative.

There is little else to tell you until I have had the second round of chemo (which is normal practice for most cancer surgeries) before I will be able to tell you I am in remission.

Thank you for your interest, comments, and encouragements.
A SAFE AND HAPPY 2022 FOR YOU ALL Maurice.
