The beginning is brilliant, a remake of "2001: The Space Odyssey", by Stanley KUBRICK, promises a film speaking of the future of a better humanity.
But then it touches on many things at the same time, inequality between sexes, consumerism, overspending, love, beauty versus ugliness and intelligence, youth versus aging, life verssus death, it touches on it all, sometimes masterfully, other times hastily.
At the end, the idea remains that the movie is honest and pretends to be moralistic, but it gets lost in the narrative excessiveness and in the frenzy of color and movement.
Public at large says the movie is great: I say it could be better.
O princípio é brilhante, uma imitação de "2001: Odisseia no Espaço", de Stalkey KUBRICK, promete um filme que fala do futuro duma melhor humanidade.
Mas depois toca em muitoa assuntos ao mesmo tempo, a desigualdade entre sexos, o consumismo, o despesismo, o amor, a beleza versus fealdade e inteligência, a juvenrtude versus envelhecimento, a vida versus morte, toca nisto tudo, às vezes com mestria, outras vezes apressadamente.
No fim fica a ideia de que o filme é honesto e pretende ser moralista, mas perde-se na excessividade da narrativa, e no frenesim da cor e do movimento.
O público em geral diz que é um grande filme: eu digo que poderia ser melhor.
