Vier Tage von Sieben besetzt mit Themen...

Es ist bekannt, dass ich kein Freund bin, von den vorgegebenen Themen über das Wochenende hinweg.
Mittlerweile kann man allerdings sehr deutlich feststellen, dass die Besucherzahlen von Ipernity während dieses Zeitraumes deutlich sinken.
Am Freitag immer nur Zäune zu sehen und rund um das Wochenende oft nur manchmal sehr 'besondere' Makros, kommt offenbar nicht sehr gut an, bei den Fotografen, die wir gewinnen möchten...
Dieses läuft nun schon so seit Jahren und stößt - meinen Feststellungen nach - mehr und mehr auf Ablehnung, als auf Zustimmung.

Unsere Teilnehmer hier sind überaus kreativ und benötigen hier keine Vorgaben über mehr als 50% der wöchentlichen Zeit...

Ich möchte nun diese kontroverse Diskussion anstoßen, um fest zu stellen, ob dieses Wochenend-Gerüst bei IP noch zeitgemäß ist oder nicht...

Ich tue das im positiven Sinn meiner platform "Ipernity"..

This has been going on for years now and-according to my findings-is attracting more and more rejection than approval.

Our participants here are extremely creative and do not need any requirements for more than 50% of the weekly time ...

Ich habe auch schon einige Zuschriften an mich persönlich, die nicht öffentlich werden sollen, da die Absender keine Probleme mit IMA haben möchten.
Das ist ja nun auch schon bezeichnend, denn überwiegend stimmen sie meinen Gedanken zu...

Ich habe sinngemäß und fast wörtlich auf eine Zuschrift an mich persönlich geantwortet:

"...drum habe ich auch versucht, die Diskussion darüber an zu stoßen.

Muss dir recht geben. Explore wird zB überflutet mit Zaun, MM usw Bilder die nicht immer dahin gehören. Nehme selbst teil an nur MM weil ich Makro's mag.

Erinnere mich an eins der letzten Fototreffen, wo jemand rief : " da sind ganz viele HFF´s".
Gut, Freitags bin ich ab und an mal dabei.
Versuche halt mit den eigenen Fotos da gegen anzutreten, nicht mit der Flut zu einem Thema.

Freitag und Montag stimme ich zu, dass Explore oft überflutet wird. Das liegt daran, dass Kommentieren in diesen Gruppen erwünscht ist, was die Platzierung in Explore beeinflusst.
Am Samstag und Sonntag ist die Mitgliederzahl der Gruppen so eingeschränkt, dass die m.E. nicht sehr ins Gewicht fallen.

Prinzipiell finde ich aktive Gruppen aber positiver als die vielen Bilderfriedhöfe, die sich keiner anschaut.

Ich finde Explore generell problematisch, weil fleißiges Netzwerken Fotos unabhängig von der Qualität immer nach oben spült Die User, die Freitag bis Montag oben in Explore stehen, sind auch von Dienstag bis Donnerstag mit ihren jeweiligen Fotos oben;-) Damit müssen wir aber wohl leben, da das Geld für eine Neuprogrammierung nicht da ist und andere DInge eh wichtiger sind.

Ja Gudrun, die Reduzierung auf zwei solcher Events wäre auch nach meiner Meinung schon ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung...

Naja, Freitag und Montag sind es mehr als 40 Teilnehmer, das haut rein. Samstag und Sonntag sind doch maximal 20 und nur sehr wenige davon landen in Explore (das sind oft die, die sowieso immer auf Explore sind).

Möglicher Weise könnten ja auch die Fans dieser Events ein eigenes IP- internes Forum erhalten, das für Interessenten separat zugänglich wäre...

Bei dieser Gelegenheit möchte ich auch ein weiteres Mal auf die Unsitte des Vordatierens hinweisen, um bessere Plätze bei Explore zu erreichen.
Ich habe das schon X-Mal bei IMA reklamiert -ohne Erfolge...

Ich möchte auch die Gelegenheit ein weiteres Mal benützen, um die Frage hier öffentlich zu stellen, wie die Algorithmen sind zur Ermittlung der Seite "Das rockt"...

Schließlich befinde ich mich in der Lage, hier Kund und zu Wissen tun - was mich auch in einigen Zuschriften erreicht hat - nach zu fragen, wie es mit der praktikablen persönlichen Datensicherung steht.
Dieses Thema habe ich schon wiederholt bei IMA angesprochen, leider bisher ohne Erfolg...

Bernhard (Bergfex) hat irgendwo mal ausgiebig getestet:
bei älteren Fotos das Datum zu ändern, bringt bei Explore rein gar nichts, denn Ipernity vergibt beim ersten Hochladen fortlaufende Nummern. D.h. ein im Hochladedatum manipuliertes älteres Foto wird nicht bei Explore erscheinen!

Die Algorithmen von "Das rockt" weiß niemand, denn Christophe hat das nirgends dokumentiert, also hat IMA dazu auch nichts (steht irgendwo in den Kommentaren in einem der letzten Teamblogs).
Aus Erfahrungswerten lässt sich schließen, dass Kommentare/ Favs/ Zugriffshäufigkeit eine Rolle spielen. Offenbar wird auch eine gewisse Anzahl neuer Fotos ohne diese "Popularitätskriterien" berücksichtigt, aber nix Genaues weiß keiner. Jedenfalls ist es immer nur je ein Bild pro User, das maximal eine Woche drinbleibt. Explore-Optimierung funktioniert also so: pro Woche nur ein Foto hochladen und dann bei möglichst vielen Leuten kommentieren, in der Hoffnung auf Rückbesuch;-)

Ein Tool, um Inhalte von Ipernity samt Kommentaren zu exportieren, müsste wahrscheinlich aufwendig programmiert werden, dazu ist kein Geld da. Das gilt auch für ein Extra- Forum für die aktiven Gruppen.

Wir haben die Möglichkeit, den Code zu ändern, wenn wir die Neuprogrammierung durchführen. Ich werde persönlich dafür sorgen, dass der Vorschlag zu den zu behandelnden Themen aufgeschrieben wird. Explore benötigt einige neue Parameter.

Okay, I got the idea from Google translations of comments.

But what is better, to have less paying members to keep ipernity alive, or let people do what they seem to like. There are still many good images within those fences, macros and other images that fill the ipernity during weekends. And those good images hopefully inspires others to take even better images as well.

But if the problem is just about Explore and possible "negative reputation" of the web site, then one solution could be to ask politely if people could start sharing those images within the groups only. People could publish images as private, and then share them only inside the group. That way they would never pop up on Explore.

However, I think people would not agree with such an idea. We are vainglorious creatures, and we want our works become seen. And each of us has the right for that.

What comes to fence Friday, I see it also just as a custom to say hello. If we stop saying hello to each other, then we may end up being very alone.

And this is only my personal opinion. Although, I have left most of those groups myself, for personal reasons.

Last but not least is my suggestion. Try to compete with all that. Do something so extraordinary that it tempts people to put quality over quantity. And finally maybe even make quality quantitatively.

So, ipernity is not just about pretty pictures. It is also about community and people sharing time with each other. The best discussions and online time spent together I have had in the challenge groups. They can be inspiring and even help one to improve as an artist and as a person.

Apologies to reply in English, but that hopefully is better than Finnish...

Rob (Stamp) and I are trying to collect a list of "future ideas", and this is what I recorded on our list:

Explore parameters needs to be reconsidered. We need to think what is more important: to show "pretty face" and good images, or let the current "most liked and commented" fill the list on every Friday with numerous fences.

For example length of comments could be one parameter.

Another suggestion. Take into account "self like". Instead of taking all new public posts to Explore, there could be also some additional "consent" required from the author. For example I do wish to post my photos as public, but many of them are not worth to "Explore". So, if I like my own work, then it could be taken as a consent to become "Explored".

Additional ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Hi Sami.
Na ja, man sieht ja derzeit wieder klar und deutlich, welch 'Tote Hose' hier herrscht rund um das Wochenende bei den verordneten Zwangsthemen.
Zäune, Kugelschreiber, gekreutzte Dinge, und Knospen und dergleichen Dinge sind halt eben nicht zu verordnen, sondern sollten der spontanen Kreativität überlassen bleiben.

Ich persönlich werde an solchen Tagen auch nichts mehr hochladen und ich kenne eine ganze Reihe von Kollegen, die eben so denken und handeln...

Ich kann auch aus den Ergebnissen der HV nichts ersehen, was diese Dinge verbessern wird...
